0º Plastic

The 0º Plastic initiative aims to minimize the use of single-use plastics, collect plastics from the environment and raise awareness among participants in our activities.

KG COLLECTED: 293

The Camí de Cavalls 360º team makes regular excursions to collect plastics on the Camí de Cavalls or the area where it runs. It is a way to extend the working season and at the same time improve the conditions of the area where our activity is carried out.

These are mainly plastics that arrive in Menorca with the sea currents, and also plastics and other waste that are thrown in the areas with the highest concentration of tourists during the summer months. Luckily, the sections of Camí de Cavalls are generally very clean.

PLASTIC FREE MENORCA COMMITMENT

The plogging sessions are carried out as part of our Plastic Free Menorca commitment.

Plastic Free Menorca is an alliance promoted by the Menorca Preservation Foundation, a non-profit foundation that seeks to promote environmental awareness and preserve the natural heritage of our island.

The main goal of the Plastic Free Menorca commitment is to reduce the use of single-use plastic and contribute to reducing the presence of plastics in the natural environment of Menorca.

The 40 Nord Outdoor commitment includes the following points:

  • Comply with current environmental regulations regarding waste.
  • Have a plastic reduction policy that will be reviewed biannually.
  • Actively seek solutions to reduce the use of single-use plastics (SUPs) in the company.
  • Do not replace SUPs with bioplastics (plastics derived from plant products, such as soybean oil, corn or potato starch).
  • Share with participants good practices in relation to SUPs. Raise awareness among team members about good practices regarding SUPs.
  • Collect and recycle the plastic generated during the activity (workers, packaging, etc.).
