ASICS chooses Menorca for its Kick Off Week

The brand’s international team of athletes will hold their season-opening training camp. They will participate in the Trail del Nord, train on routes designed by Camí de Cavalls 360º, and have their operations center at the ARTIEM Audax Hotel in Cala Galdana.

From March 28 to April 3, Menorca will host some of the world’s best trail running athletes. ASICS has chosen the island and Camí de Cavalls 360º for its annual Kick Off Week—a one-week training camp to fine-tune the final details for the upcoming season.

A total of 35 elite athletes from 12 countries are expected to arrive in Menorca during these days. Among them, standout names include Tom Evans (United Kingdom), winner of the Western States; Benjamin Roubiol (France), world champion; and Sara Alonso (Spain), winner of the Marathon du Mont Blanc. Their work plan begins on March 29 with their participation in the Trail del Nord, part of the Illa dels Trails circuit. Ten athletes will take on the long race, covering 30 kilometers between Camí de Binimel·là and Ferreries, while another twenty will compete in the short race, a 14-kilometer route starting from the Cala Pilar parking lot and also finishing in Ferreries.

Camí de Cavalls 360º has been the link between ASICS and Menorca. It has outlined the general framework for the Kick Off Week program, selected accommodation in collaboration with ARTIEM Hotels, and strengthened its partnership with Associació Menorca Esportiva to include the Trail del Nord within the training camp’s structure.

Additionally, Camí de Cavalls 360º has served as a local support advisor, designing a set of training routes tailored to the athletes’ needs. These routes are mainly located around Cala Galdana and the ARTIEM Audax Hotel.

The ASICS athletes’ program also includes product development talks, various activities (spa, gym, yoga…), sessions with the brand’s media team, and work meetings on training and season planning.

ASICS is a global leader in running and a key player in the trail running market. With a focus on innovation and performance, the brand creates products that optimize comfort, stability, and runners’ efficiency. Beyond enhancing physical performance, ASICS promotes mental well-being, encouraging people to move as a way to reduce stress and improve emotional health through initiatives like the “Move your body, move your mind” campaign. Committed to researching the benefits of movement, ASICS aims to inspire an active lifestyle and positive mental health under the motto “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano.”

This is why Menorca was chosen as the ideal location for ASICS. The island boasts diverse trail-running terrain, including the spectacular Camí de Cavalls, which circles the entire island, and has an ever-growing reputation for outdoor sports, particularly trail running. Its passionate trail-running community, events like the Trail del Nord and its numerous outdoor activities further enhance its appeal. Menorca’s ideal climate and potential as a high-quality, year-round sports tourism destination make it the perfect setting for this event. The island combines its wild nature and stunning landscapes with a welcoming and family-friendly character. This unique combination aligns perfectly with ASICS’ values, offering an inspiring environment for movement, well-being, and connection with nature.

The central hub for athletes, staff, and media will be the ARTIEM Audax Hotel. ARTIEM is opening its doors to high-performance sports and sports tourism.

ARTIEM strengthens its commitment to a tourism model that merges sports, wellness, and a deep connection with nature. Together, they have worked to promote sports initiatives on the island—an ongoing collaboration that ARTIEM values and deeply appreciates.

With its privileged location overlooking Cala Galdana beach, ARTIEM Audax becomes the epicenter for athletes’ training and recovery. Designed to optimize performance and physical and mental balance, the hotel offers a hydrothermal circuit at its BlueSpa, a fully equipped gym, and a carefully curated gastronomic offering to provide the necessary energy for each demanding training session.
